Core Performance
With a dense molecular structure and no pores, PP board can completely block water penetration. It will not absorb water, expand, deform or rot even in long-term contact with water or humid environments, and its waterproof effect is far superior to traditional wood and paper-based covering materials. It can withstand common corrosive media such as weak acids, weak bases and salt spray. In scenarios where chemical liquids may splash, it can prevent the covering material from being damaged by corrosion and thus losing waterproof function. Moreover, it has certain impact resistance and toughness, and is not easy to crack when hit by external forces. Meanwhile, it has a relatively wide temperature resistance range (usually -20℃~120℃), so its waterproof performance will not easily degrade under outdoor exposure or low-temperature freeze-thaw environments.
Advantages
PP (polypropylene) is a general-purpose plastic with sufficient raw material supply and stable prices. Compared with waterproof materials such as stainless steel plates, aluminum alloy plates and PVC hard plates, the basic unit price of PP sheets is usually 15%~30% lower. With a density of only 0.9g/cm³ (about 1/8 of steel), it is lightweight, making transportation and handling more labor-saving. Moreover, it is easy to cut, drill and weld without complex processing equipment. Its installation efficiency is more than 40% higher than that of metal waterproof plates, which indirectly reduces labor costs. Its service life can reach 5~10 years, and no frequent maintenance or replacement is required during this period. Compared with covering materials that need regular waterproof coating, its long-term comprehensive cost is lower.
Applications
Waterproof covering for the roof of temporary construction dormitories and material warehouses, or waterproof liners for enclosure walls, PP board enables quick construction with reliable waterproof performance. Waterproof liners at the bottom of kitchen cabinets and the back of bathroom vanities to prevent cabinet erosion by wall moisture or standing water; it can also be used as lightweight waterproof partitions for dry-wet separation in bathrooms. Also, it could be used as waterproof seam-filling material at the corners and joints of greenhouses, or waterproof liners for small seedling boxes, to prevent leakage of condensed water inside the greenhouse. Wrapped around the interfaces and valves of outdoor irrigation pipes to form waterproof protective covers, PP boards prevent rainwater from rusting equipment parts.
